One might ask why a Food Safety consultant is working with pest control companies. The reason is totally borne from necessity; during 90% of every client HACCP evaluation, the IPM program was found to be deficient. The food processing personnel in charge of the IPM programs had no idea that their current program exposed them to additional cost and tremendous liability. Furthermore, the pest control companies rendering the program had little concept of true IPM for food processing. Sadly, even some of the larger well known companies, specializing in Food environments were as derelict as the smaller companies. By listening to the IPM companies, my clients were spending more money than necessary and were exposing themselves to liability. I found myself coaching the pest control companies on how to render proper IPM.
We are also very proud to associate ourselves with Gardner Manufacturing, as a distributor for the premier manufacturer of Insect Light Traps. We provide this service for one reason; the Gardner ILT's are the longest lasting and most effective ILT on the market. They should be an integral part of any sound IPM program.
